Cedar Park intersections slated for improvements

At the intersection of Cypress Creek Rd and S. Bell Blvd, more left turn lanes are set to be introduced in both directions of Cypress Creek Road.

In all, eight out of ten of Cedar Park’s most dangerous intersections have either undergone an upgrade or are scheduled to do so. In addition to the road improvements, police in the city will use a TxDot S.T.E.P. grant to provide extra officers with overtime to manage traffic in problem areas. These grants are designed to focus on problems such as intersection traffic control and speed limit compliance.

Further evidence of Cedar Park's commitment to traffic safety can be seen in its recent partnership in the ‘Arrive Alive Central Texas’ with other law enforcement agencies in the central part of the state. The ‘Arrive Alive Central Texas’ program is aimed the problems caused by aggressive driving and alcohol-related driving offenses around specific holidays.

Matt Powell, mayor of Cedar Park, was quoted at the HillCountryNews.com as saying:

“I am proud of our council and staff for the way we prioritize our limited transportation dollars.”

Municipalities often find that, by utilizing the services of brochure printers, they can keep the public informed about upcoming road closures or road construction. This makes it more convenient for drivers and safer for both motorists and construction crews.
