Change is in the air for Home Slice Pizza.
As the Austin-based pizza restaurant prepares to open its second location, the owners have decided not to hold its annual Carnival O'Pizza.
However, this does not mean the restaurant will stop doing what it can to support the local community. As part of an initiative that Home Slice has named ‘DOUGHvember’, the current location, on South Congress, will be open every Tuesday this month. Usually, the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
The restaurant plans on donating part of the profits earned each Tuesday in November to a local charity. The charities that Home Slice will donate to include SAFE Austin, CASA of Travis County, No Kid Hungry, and Urban Roots.
Restaurants that are planning special events can use poster printing to let their patrons know the details. Along with opening an additional day each week this month and raising money for charitable organizations, the team at Home Slice Pizza has several activities planned throughout November.
The activities will be family-friendly and will include a raffle. Raffle tickets cost $10 and the grand prize is free pizza for one year. Money raised from the sale of raffle tickets will be given to one of the four charities. People entering the raffle should write the charity they prefer on their tickets.
The other big change in the works for Home Slice Pizza is the opening of a second location, in North Loop. Currently, the owners are expecting to open sometime in winter of 2018.
