A community cookout and music festival highlight this year’s Juneteenth celebrations in Austin. Presented by the Carver Museum, Stay Black and Live, this year’s Juneteenth festivities will take place in Rosewood, an historic neighborhood at the rear of the museum. Groups that organize events such as this often look to poster printing to get their message out.
The George Washington Carver Museum offers a venue where black people and their worldwide contributions are celebrated through exhibitions of African American history, culture and artistic styles.
Free programming, special events and curated exhibits are offered in a manner that inspires and educates the public. In addition to its core collection of four exhibits that honor local and national African Americans, the museum operates two rotating art galleries.
For the outdoor Juneteenth event, deejays will get the party started with tunes to set the mood while hungry attendees can sample some of the smoked foods created by barbecue masters. There will be a live black artists market, carnival games, workshops and other hands-on activities. Plus, attendees can take independent tours of the museum.
Juneteenth in Austin is open to all interested people and is a free event. It will be celebrated on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from noon to 10 pm at 1165 Angelina St. A community remembrance ceremony will conclude the Carver Museum Juneteenth events on the afternoon of June 19, 2025.
