Austin celebrates 100 years

Next month, Texas Tech University (TTU) presents Capitol Tech - A Texas Tech Centennial Celebration.

TTU is a public research university founded by legislative action in 1923. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has granted recognition to the institution, which was formerly known as Texas Technological College, until 1969. Texas Tech University is one of 131 colleges and universities in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education's "Very High Research Activity" category. Texas Tech University's academic divisions comprise 13 colleges and schools that grant over 150 undergraduate degrees, 100 graduate degrees, and 50 doctoral degrees.

Texas Tech University's football team, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, will congregate in Austin on the eve of the celebration for a joyful evening of music, food, and entertainment. Lynda Kay, a Texas Tech graduate, will perform, and the Masked Rider and the spirit squads will also make an appearance.

Tickets cost $100 and include live entertainment, cocktails, and food. Banner printing can help universities provide information about celebrations like this, .

The celebration will be on Tuesday, February 28 from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm. It will be at the Coopertank Event Center at 504 Trinity Street in Austin, Texas 78701.
