Austin area restaurant to turn into a haunted house

With the approach of Halloween, plenty of bars and restaurants add a themed meal or drink to their Menus, but the Craftsman bar in East Austin plans to go a bit further this Halloween.

In the weeks leading up to the spooky holiday, the entire bar will turn into a haunted house, or more accurately, a haunted pop-up bar.

The bar will be decorated like a classic haunted house and it will be offering several themed cocktails. During those two weeks, these ghoulish concoctions will be replacing the establishment's usual offerings.

Restaurants and bars that plan on offering new drinks or a new experience in honor of a holiday can use flyer printing to let patrons know of the plans and what will be on offer.

During the last two weeks of October, the Craftsman bar's drink offerings will be inspired by local haunted stories and popular Halloween-themed films.

The Bride in Room #525 refers to a creepy local legend involving the nearby Driskill Hotel. The drink will feature Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Dickel whisky, lemon, and demerara syrup. The Billy Butcherson was inspired by the movie ‘Hocus Pocus’. It features a house-made pumpkin butter syrup, Jägermeister, lemon, and orange, topped with a house-made Grand Marnier foam.

Some of the cocktails are more cheeky and less spooky. ‘Nobody Likes Candy Corn’ has a fresh corn reduction, pineapple, orange, Espolon Tequila, and El Silencio Mezcal.

The haunted bar will be open from 6:00 pm until 2:00 am every night from October 17 to 31.
