Vinyl revival celebrated in Austin

The Austin Record Convention will take place shortly and is recognized as an event that has the largest sales in the country for recorded music.

Collectors can find vinyl from the early 1930s, through the long-lasting era of CDs, and everything in between.

Over a million records, including LPs, 45s, 78s, 8-tracks, cassette tapes, and CDs will be at the show, with over 300 dealers participating from throughout the U.S. as well as Europe. The convention is held across 40,000 square feet in floor space.

In addition to records, treasure hunters can find Posters and other music-related collectibles and memorabilia. Vendors and exhibitors often use local printing services to create Business Cards to distribute at large events. The cards can contain all relevant contact information to help stimulate future sales.

An option for early shoppers is available for $30. The early entry ticket will allow admission after dealers are set up on Friday through Sunday, before the doors open to the general public.

The show typically has a $5 general admission fee. However, that fee is being waived this year and admission will be free on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 10:00 am.

The Austin Record Convention will be held at the Palmer Events Center on May 8 and 9. More information is available via the event website.
