Tens of thousands will run and walk for a good cause in Austin’s 48th Statesman Capital 10,000.
Since its inception in 1978, what’s known as the Cap10K has become the state’s largest 10K race and the sixth biggest in the nation.
The event has given back more than $3 million to the community over the past 30 years and this year, the Kindness Campaign is the race’s chosen charity. It’s a non-profit organization developed to work with teachers, mentors and other experts to provide children with social and emotional skills to deal with trauma, boost self-image and encourage empathy.
The Cap10K is so much more than a race, with events prior to and after the run. The weekend kicks off with a health and fitness exposition at the Palmer Events Center, featuring the latest running Apparel, footwear, nutrition and technology.
After the race, participants can enjoy free massages, food and cocktail vendors while listening to live music at the free finish line festival. There will even be a kids’ zone to keep the youngsters entertained.
In addition to the live race, there will be a virtual option in which runners and walkers can complete the 10K at their own time and place. Virtual participants will be shipped a runners' kit with the same race day swag. Sponsors who contribute to participant Bags for large events such as this often use Print shops for their Promotional Products.
The live Cap10K race will take place April 6, 2025 beginning at 8 am at Barton Springs Road and Congress Avenue in Austin.
