A new grand hotel is under construction across the street from the Austin Convention Center. The Fairmont Austin is being financed by Colony Capital, LLC, and is now occupied by a parking lot. When first proposed, the 37-story hotel was to have begun in 2011 with an opening in early 2015; however, setbacks, including a change in building design, held up the project.
The project will provide a wide range of employment opportunities, both in the hotel itself and for those who provide it with goods and services. For instance, there will be multiple opportunities for Stationery printers to supply products, among which are Letterheads, digital Business Cards, and Brochures.
The hotel will also benefit other businesses in Austin by enabling the city to handle more conventions. The Austin area has been starved for hotel space to accommodate such attractions as Formula 1 and SXSW. A market analysis conducted in 2013 by consultancy group HVS stated:
"Austin Convention Center currently operates at only 40 percent capacity due to a lack of hotel room availability for large conventions and events."
Designed with the Austin Convention Center in mind, the hotel and Convention Center will be connected by an aerial walkway.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Letterheads Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Stationery
