Casey Development, which is building one of the newest apartment complexes in Austin, will be installing car charging stations for its residents. The charging stations will be located inside the complex’s parking garages.
Developers believe the charging stations will be a big draw, as currently the closest station is two miles away in Tacara. Other communities have charging stations, but Tacara Steiner Ranch will be the first to put the chargers inside private garages, allowing residents 24-hour-a-day access. Teslas come with their own charging cords, so the garage will only be equipped with the plugs, which are similar in size to washing machine outlets.
Austin Energy supports the efforts of developers and has a program to assist apartment owners wishing to install these stations on the property.
Tacara Steiner Ranch is a luxury apartment community which will consist of 246 units. Along with the charging stations, other amenities that developers will likely include in Brochures for the community will be hydro massage beds, infinity pool, and, for dog lovers, a dog washing station.
The developers are hoping to have the first units available for occupancy by the end of the year. Currently, pricing for the apartments ranges from $995 - $1,175 for a one bedroom and increase up to $2,100 - $2,250 for a three-bedroom unit. The complex is located at 4306 N. Quinlan Park Road.
