The Zach Theater in Austin has begun the Songs Under the Stars series of summer concerts. A range of productions will take place throughout the next several weeks.
April’s performance will be Gospel Down by the Riverside. The cast from the hit production “CROWNS” starring Janis Stinson, Kia Fulton, Judy Arnold and Roderick Sanford will feature music from well-known musical celebrities. Songs made famous by Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Shirley Caesar, and Mahalia Jackson will be performed. Attendees can enjoy “The Saints go Marching in,” “Will the Circle be Unbroken,” “Down by the Riverside,” and more.
The outdoor concert experience will take place in the People’s Plaza, which is near the Topfer. It will be set up in a safe and socially distanced format, allowing everyone the opportunity to enjoy the music under the skies of Austin. The spaces are referred to as “pods” and can be reserved for two to six people. Guests should bring their own lawn chairs if seated in the BYOChair section.
Banners often provide the informational signage for outdoor events. After the completion of banner printing, they can be hung near concessions, in parking lots, by restroom facilities and in seating areas.
Ticket pricing ranges from $25 to $55 per person. There are no discounts available, so every person is counted in the pod ticket groupings. The Gospel Down by the Riverside performances will take place through April 11.
