As part of its Taste America series, the James Beard Foundation is traveling around the US, planning stops in multiple cities. Later this month, Austin will be one of those cities.
Several programs and dinners are scheduled to take place over a three-day weekend, giving more than two dozen chefs a chance to show off their talents.
The main event of the Taste America series is a three course dinner that will take place at the W Hotel on the Friday. The dinner will be prepared by a local chef Michael Fojtasek of Olamaie, and Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson from the restaurants Madcapra and Kismet in Los Angeles.
Organizations that put together traveling food shows and events can use brochure printing to outline the schedule of events and to encourage people to purchase tickets.
Before the dinner, there will be a tasting and cocktail reception, highlighting the creations of about a dozen chefs. Among the dishes on offer during the reception will be swordfish pancetta from the chefs at Giant in Chicago, smoked miso tartare from Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, a squash dish from Zach Hunter of Brewer's table, and small bites from Manuel Rodriguez of the W, Callie Speer from Holy Roller, and Rene Ortiz of Laundrette.
It takes place from November 15 to 17. Tickets for the dinner and reception on November 16 are $250 and VIP tickets are available for $300. VIP tickets also include entry to a Smoke Session program the night before.
