Emmy-winning comedian to make Austin laugh

The American comedian Patton Oswalt is scheduled to visit Austin for a performance in the middle of June. It will take place at Austin’s own Paramount Theatre as a part of the comedian’s ‘Who’s Ready to Laugh?’ tour.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Oswalt began performing comedy in 1988. From there, he began performing in numerous film and television roles. These started with a debut on Seinfield in an episode entitled ‘The Couch’. They then expanded into live-action roles such as his most well-known role as Spence Olchin on ‘The King of Queens,’ and voice acting roles such as Remy, the lead character in Pixar’s Film ‘Ratatouille’. He has also lent his voice to several video games such as Grand Theft Auto.

His stand-up comedy repertoire includes winning a Grammy Award and an Emmy Award for his Netflix stand-up special. Favorite topics of his range from less serious subjects such as comic book supervillains, to more serious ones such as religion, foreign policy, and materialism.

The stand-up performance will take place on Saturday, June 18 at 713 Congress Avenue. The doors will open at 6:00 pm and the show will begin at 7:00 pm.
