Austin Independent School District (AISD) recently announced it is accepting bids on a handful of underused properties, which include buildings and land. The various properties, which are scattered throughout the Austin area, will be available for either sale or lease.
This offers a chance for entrepreneurs who have been thinking of opening up a business to take their dream to a reality. Starting up a new business is a big venture and a local printing company can assist with the many tasks associated with it, including Logo Design, marketing services and Catalogs.
The four available buildings are the Baker Center, the Millett Opera House, the Carruth Administration Center, and the Allan Early Childhood Center. AISD is also offering land at six different locations: Alpine Road, Doris & Hathaway, E. 51st St, Tannehill Lane & Jackie Robinson St, US Hwy 183 & Loyola, and Trail West Drive.
The district is offering these properties because they are expensive to maintain and not used enough to justify the costs. It is unclear at this time exactly what the options will be, sale or lease, for each individual property.
A pre-bid conference will be held next Tuesday, October 18, at 9:00 am and the Allan Early Childhood Center. The district will offer property tours on October 20. All bids must be submitted by 2:00 pm on December 14. For more information, visit the district’s website.
