Austin restaurant group changes plans for 2019

The seafood market Guild is on the move again from its location near Central Market in Austin.

The restaurant, which is owned by Chameleon Companies, first opened in March of 2018. At the end of the year, its parent company announced that it would be moving downtown, to a smaller, more intimate spot. The exact location for the restaurant hasn't yet been revealed.

Although Chameleon Companies is moving Guild out of the big building on North Lamar Boulevard, it is not giving up the space entirely.

The plan is to turn the large space into Rosedale Kitchen and Bar. Rosedale promises a more approachable menu and plans on serving food all day long. The dishes are likely to be comfort-focused, as well as on the healthy side. Diners can expect to see options such as grain bowls on the menu.

Restaurant groups shuffling their offerings around can use printing services to let patrons know what changes are in store and when to expect them.

Although an opening date for Guild in its new location has not been announced yet, a few things are expected to stay the same. Chef Sterling Ridings will remain in the kitchen, planning the menu and dishes for the seafood establishment. Some of the dishes that were already on the menu are expected to remain and Ridings plans on introducing a few new options as well.

Chameleon Companies is eyeing an early 2019 opening for both establishments.
