Austin Celtic Festival celebrates heritage and culture

All things Scottish, Irish, and Welsh will be celebrated at the upcoming Austin Celtic Festival (ACF).

Highland games, Celtic music, history, theater, and workshops will highlight the 2024 festival, which is returning for its 27th year of celebrations. Presented by the Austin Celtic Association, the event aims to promote and educate the public about Celtic culture.

Traditional Highland games featuring sports such as the caber toss, hammer throw, and other heavy games, are big part of the ACF and there is even a specialized kids' competition.

Some less physical activities at the festival are presented by the ACF School of Traditional Arts, in which students can take courses in music and history, or even an education in scotch whisky tasting. Included among lessons and lectures will be instruction in Irish dance, Celtic storytelling, Viking battle demonstrations, and interludes on how to pronounce scotch whisky brand names.

Music will surround the festival events provided by a broad line up of Celtic bands and performers displaying their talents on bagpipes and drums, fiddles, and accordions. Visitors can also enjoy a range of traditional food and Celtic merchandise from the many festival vendors. Businesses that set up booths at events such as this often use Stationery printers to produce their Menus and other marketing materials.

The Austin Celtic Festival will be held Saturday, November 2 from noon to 7:00 pm, and Sunday, November 3 from noon to 6:00 pm. Tickets for ACF must be purchased on the event website as there will be no sales at the gate.
