An upcoming event will celebrate young artists.
Pinkerton Park in Franklin will be the site of the 7th Annual Kids Arts Festival of Tennessee. The festival includes an art exhibit, live performances, art stops, and a chance for young artists to sell their work.
Participation in the Fine Arts Exhibit is open to all Tennessee children in grades kindergarten through 12. The artwork must be original, and the show is juried, meaning experts, such as gallery owners and art critics, will see the pieces first and select the ones to put on display. Art from a variety of multi-media platforms will be accepted. Those artworks that win will be on display in Downtown Franklin, in the Fire Hall Art Gallery.
Organizers of the festival are also putting out a call for performers who would like to appear live on stage at the event. Anyone who plays an instrument, sings, acts, or dances, or writes poetry should consider appearing in person. Both newcomers and seasoned theater pros are welcome to apply, as the idea is to share the talent found in Tennessee.
The young artists are allowed and encouraged to sell their works to festivalgoers, but will need to set up their own displays.
The festival is March 25, starting at 10:00 am. The park is at 405 Murfreesboro Road. Organizers of events like this can enhance the experience by using flyer printing to create handouts listing the artworks and performers.
