Franklin hosts conference for utility stakeholders

Many working in public electric utilities will gather in Franklin for a two-day training and networking event during early February.

The Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, Inc. (TVPPA) has announced its yearly Legal Conference, which provides an opportunity for attorneys, CEOs, electric utility general managers, and board members to stay informed on changes impacting the public power sector. The conference will provide attendees with specific, role-specific information; general managers and CEOs will focus particularly on the legal perspectives of their work, while board members will learn how their decision-making is impacted by regulatory law. Business Cards from Print shops are useful at networking events.

The TVPPA is the nonprofit representing consumer-owned electric utilities within the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) service area. The organization includes both electric and municipal cooperatives and serves over 10 million people over 7 states. The Legal Conference is one of the longest-running in the state, supporting the Tennessee electric power sector for over 50 years. The group is currently led by Doug Peters, President and CEO.

The TVPPA Legal Conference will be underway February 5 and 6 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. The address for the venue is 700 Cool Springs Boulevard. Registration is required and may be achieved through the sponsor’s website. Registration fees vary according to role. Attorneys who attend are entitled to receive up to 13 continuing legal education (CLE) credits.
