Seasonal craft event just a week away

Centennial High School in Franklin is holding its Centennial Holiday Craft Show soon. The event is the school’s major annual fundraiser.

The Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO) is organizing the event, which has been held for 20 years, and raised $600,000 during that time. The funds have gone for a number of improvements, including buying band instruments, providing materials for various departments, installing new curtains in the theater, and buying a 3-D printer to be used by students in drafting classes.

This year’s show offers more than 150 vendors of art and craft goods from various states, some of whom are participating for the first time. Craftspeople will offer food items, photography, artwork, candles, glass, woodwork, wood carving, metalwork, baskets, pottery, and jewelry.

There will be concessions available throughout the fair, and there will be door prizes as well. Also, many school classes, teams, and clubs will be on hand, selling treats to raise funds for their events and activities.

Also, the CHS National Art Honor Society and Thespian Society will set up a Kids Christmas Village in the school cafeteria. Organizers of shows like this can use banner printing to help decorate the venue.

The Holiday Craft Show is set for November 17 and 18 at the school, which is in Franklin on Mallory Lane. Saturday’s hours are 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, while on Sunday the show will be open from noon until 4:00 pm. Parking is free, and admission is $5.
