Major event returns to Franklin

One of the biggest events in Tennessee is returning to Franklin this summer.

The Franklin Rodeo brings an entire week of fun to the city. Festivities kick off with a parade, followed by a family event, and then the rodeo itself.

Held in downtown Franklin, the parade features bands, clowns, horses, floats, and more. The units assemble in various locations, but the parade starts at Johnson Elementary and moves in a rough circle to end at Jim Warren Park.

Family Night gives participants a look at the behind-the-scenes efforts necessary to put on this type of event. Cowboys will be on hand to sign autographs, and food trucks will be available.

The rodeo itself is a three-day event that includes seven traditional events each night. These contests are approved by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and are bull riding, barrel racing, tie down roping, saddle bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, and bareback riding. Each category presents a different challenge to the participant. There are also two events for children, the calf scramble, and mutton bustin’.

The parade is set for May 13, Family Night is May 17, and the Rodeo proper runs May 18, 19, and 20. Organizers of events like this, which will go ahead no matter what the weather is like, can use banner printing to create weather-resistant Signs to mark the parade route.
