A major event is coming up in Franklin for the 18th year – the Williamson County Fair.
The first Williamson County Fair was held in 2005, and since then the event has won several awards. Two of note were when the 2013 fair was awarded the AAA Division State Champion Fair award at the Tennessee Association of Fairs (TAI) convention in 2014, and the following year when the TAI gave the Williamson event the AAA Division Premier Fair Award for the 2014 fair.
This outstanding event is a true county fair, with cooking competitions, beauty pageants, livestock competitions, a hay bale decorating contest, educational exhibits, live music, and more. Some of the educational presentations include a honey extraction lesson, a children’s barnyard where kids can meet and pet farm animals, and a chick hatchery. The Cultural Arts Exhibits will offer a display of artworks in the fields of photography, sustainable art, and fine arts.
Shows include a safety powerline demo, the Kardenni Magic Show, Robocars, the work of a chainsaw artist named Roark Phillips, and more. Live music on the Nissan Stage includes the Cameron Jayne Disco Band, the Williamson County Bluegrass Band, and a vocal competition.
The fair is scheduled for August 4 through August 12 at the Williamson County Agricultural EXPO Park in Franklin. When events of this size are planned, organizers can use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees that include a map of the fairgrounds and schedule of events.
