First Tennessee Bank sets foot in Franklin

A recent ribbon cutting was held in downtown Franklin to celebrate the opening of First Tennessee Bank’s Franklin Main Financial Center.

The opening comes almost three years after ground was first broken on the project. During that time, bank employees worked out of the “cottage,” a temporary structure in the parking lot. Meanwhile, work continued to change the structure from its 1970s appearance to one that would have not been out of place 100 years ago.

The First Tennessee Bank in Middle Tennessee’s president, Carol Yochem, was in attendance, along with bank employees, members of the chamber of commerce, and other officials. She said it was an exciting day for the bank, as it reopened the financial center. Events like this can be enhanced if organizers use banner printing to create decorations.

The bank’s headquarters are in Memphis, and the bank has over 180 locations throughout Tennessee. It has stood on Franklin Square, in the same spot, for nearly 40 years. However, in 2016, Heartland Partners started to redevelop the building to bring the architectural style more in line with other structures in the city.

Yochem said the bank is proud of the new building, which fits in well with the other historical structures in Franklin. She also noted that the bank’s customers stayed loyal to them during the renovation, which pleased everyone at the institution.
