Festive fun in Franklin

An annual tradition is returning to Franklin this spring.

Over 120,000 people come to Franklin every year to celebrate the Main Street Festival, one of the largest gatherings in Tennessee. The event features delicious food, drinks, entertainment, eclectic vendors with handmade arts and crafts, and more, all in downtown Franklin.

This year’s plans so far include over 150 vendors, 30 food and beverage sellers, a Buskers’ Corner, entertainment on both the Main and Acoustic Stages, and various artistic and cultural performances. Performances include a display of public art, while cultural offerings include music, spoken word, and dance.

New in the arts & crafts section this year is a Fine Arts Gallery, where visitors will find such items as hand-made jewelry, photography, pottery, and more.

Returning favorites include the KidsZone, where arts, crafts, games, and kids’ activities will be found. There will be surprises, interactive arts, and lots of fun on Spring Street; the parking lot adjacent to Simmons Bank will become a PetZone. Among the treats for people’s furry friends is a dog park made of turf where dogs can play, complimentary treats, a water station, giveaways, and a background for a photo. People who are hoping to find a new family member will find information on site.

The festival is set for April 27 and 28, from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm on both days. Organizers of large outdoor events like this will often work with banner printing to create suitable decorations.
