Two significant projects are underway in the Spartanburg area.

The South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg is currently being demolished, making way for the construction of a new school.

Katie Rice, the public relations director for the school, said that some of the unused and outdated buildings that are no longer conducive to an environment of healthy learning are being removed. In their place, a new dormitory space and classroom building will be constructed as part of a master plan developed by McMillan Pazdan Smith. This company is also the project manager for the construction, although no timeframe has been set for this as the school needs funding for the project approved by the state legislature.

Banner printing is often used at such sites to keep the public informed of progress on projects.

Meanwhile, in nearby Boiling Springs, a Tractor Supply store will be opening next year. A public relations and marketing person for the store, Abby Brown, said that the new store will provide 15 new jobs in the area, with at least half of them being full-time positions, no doubt generating an increase in local business card printing orders. It will be one of over 40 other stores in the state, including one on East Main Street in Spartanburg. The store is expected to open early next year.
