The Bookstore at Wofford College in Spartanburg will soon have a new home.
Currently under construction is a new shopping center on N. Church Street that will include the bookstore, restaurants, retail and gathering spaces. It is expected to be close to 17,000 square feet in size and will be known as The Hub. Banner printing can be used at such sites to keep the community informed on the progress of such projects.
Interim provost at Wofford, Dr. Tim Schmitz, said that The Hub is a development that will enable the college to continue its integration into the Northside community across Church Street and to help revitalize the Northside of the city. Dr. Schmitz has been supervising a grant from the Romill Foundation, which the college received in 2015 for its Milliken Sustainability Initiative that supports the involvement of the college in the community.
The bookstore will move to The Hub and occupy 5,758 square feet. The space will be flexible for the display of Books and merchandise, and be able to be the location for community and college events. There will be outdoor space which the college will share for gatherings in the community.
The contractor for the project is Harper General Contractors and the project is being led by Fletcher Development. The Hub is expected to open this summer.Get a Free Quote for Books
