Spartanburg will be holding its Greek Festival later this month.
This is a family friendly event that will offer savory platters, pita sandwiches, and pastries. Featured dishes will include a chicken platter with Greek chicken and potatoes, a Souvlaki platter with lean marinated pork tenders, a Pastichio platter with two dolmathes; gyros, and Greek salad with chicken. Dessert will include baklava, cheesecake with baklava topping, and butter twist and wedding cookies. There will also be a Greek band, dancing, and shopping.
Meals can be enjoyed either at the venue or can be delivered through Hub City Delivery. There will be no drive-thru meals.
The price of admission is $2.00 for adults. There is no charge for children 12 years of age and younger. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will support Mobile Meals. Such events and their fundraising efforts are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
Parking will be available at the Spartanburg County Offices on North Church Street with shuttle services running each day of the festival.
The festival will take place at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on Friday September 19 and Saturday September 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday September 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
