Several activities have been planned throughout the month of July in Greer, just outside of Spartanburg, and their organizers are no doubt turning to a range of professional printing services to inform the community and encourage participation.
Through July 15, ‘Tall Tale Tuesdays’ will be taking place at the Cannon Centre in Greer, with storytelling beginning at 7:00 pm followed by a craft related to the story of the evening at 7:30 pm.
Also, Starting July 7, summer pottery classes will be held at the William Felton School of Crafts in Taylors Mill and will last for 10 weeks. Sessions run from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Different levels of ability and experience will be catered for on particular days, with beginners likes to benefit most from Monday night classes, and Thursdays more suited to intermediate potters.
Alternatively, the Greer Cultural Arts Council will be holding summer camps for children. A Beginner Theatre Camp in which children learn stage coal techniques, character exploration, stage presence, set design, theatrical make-up, and comprehensive dance skills will be held from July 7 - 11. An advanced theatre camp with a performance of ‘Into the Woods Jr.’ will be held from July 11 through August 2.
Several other summer camps for children will be held at Taylors First Baptist Church, featuring such themes as bicycling, ballet, and jazz.
