The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has announced a new public health department is now open in Spartanburg.
This facility on Dillon Drive replaces the one that was on East Wood Drive, which the department has outgrown. Across the street is a new facility for Vital Records services.
Offered at the new facility will be important public health services that will include family planning, immunizations, and services for women, infants, and children. Non-clinical work will include those services that support protecting people’s health such as epidemiology, disease surveillance, and health preparedness.
There will be 28 people working at the new clinic and four at the Vital Records office, many of whom will most likely require business card printing services. Additional printing services can be used to help promote the clinic and the many benefits it offers for the community.
Director of the DHEC, Dr. Edward Simmer, said that this new facility will enable the expansion of services being offered and the improvement in the quality of healthcare that is provided to the residents of Spartanburg County for many years to come.
Dr. Kandi Fredere, Upstate Regional Health Director for DHEC, expressed her excitement about this more modern facility that is more conducive to the needs of their clients and the community. Dr. Fredere said the goal is to keep the community as healthy as possible.
