Organization for children makes a major move in Spartanburg

The Kids Upstate organization will soon be coming to the Chapman Cultural Center in Spartanburg.

The organization will be moving into the administrative space that was once occupied by the Spartanburg Regional History Museum, which closed its doors at the end of 2022.

News of such moves and their benefit for the community is often provided with poster printing.

Kids Upstate is an organization that looks to build competence, belonging, and purpose into children’s lives. President of Kids Upstate, Greg Tolbert, said that this move makes sense as Kids Upstate already holds event at the center. He added that this has been ideal for the organization, as the building is a high quality one.

It is primarily the administrative offices that will be moving into the center. These offices previously were in a building provided by the Morningside Baptist Church almost free of rent. Tolbert said that this move will enable a deeper and broader collaboration with the center, as there will be many additional services that will be able to be provided to children.

Kids Upstate has been a resource for families in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties for over 20 years, offering after-school programs and fitness, art, and learning programs. Tolbert said that the organization can now test new programs with the kids, the parents, and the community that can start in the fall.
