Open air trolley service revised

Trolley service is now running in downtown Greenville. Residents of Spartanburg will want to take advantage of this unique experience.

Operated by Greenlink, the routes of the trolley service have been redesigned so that there are now four routes. There is the West End Route (which typically runs through September); the seasonal Attractions Route; and the North Main and South Main Routes (which run all year).

The West End Route connects the Village of West Greenville with South Main Street and will operate on Thursday and Friday evenings. The Attractions Route connects the Greenville Zoo to Heritage Green and will operate all day Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The North Main and South Main Routes will operate on Thursday and Friday evenings, all day Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. The Greenlink Transit Center is the starting point for all routes. Brochure printing is often used to offer more details about hours and schedules of such routes.

James Keel, Transit Director of Greenlink, said that the new routes are a response to requests from residents for more frequent service, to connect parking options with popular destinations, and to provide more consistent service. He said that consequently the routes are shorter and there are also new trolley stop Signs with unique stop numbers so that passengers can get arrivals in real-time on a new app.
