Siobhan Saul and Alissa Duncan recently joined Partners for Active Living in Spartanburg.
Duncan will be the Healthy Communities Coordinator and will work with several organizations and initiatives in the community. She has lived in Spartanburg for many years and considers active living and healthy eating to be both personal and professional passions. Her studies for her master’s degree from Clemson University in City and Regional Planning focused on natural resources and food systems. Her previous work has been with nonprofit as well as private and public organizations in the city and the state, and has centered on planning and policies.
Saul will be the new Healthy Kids Coordinator, as the current person in that role, Liz Perry, will become the Operations and Projects Coordinator, a newly created role in the organization. In her role, Saul will provide technical support and assistance to childcare centers, schools, and other organizations that help families in the community.
Various printing services can be used to create displays and other materials to inform the community of such appointments.
Saul spent a year in Erie, Pennsylvania with the Americorps program, after which she taught Spanish and ESOL for eight years for the Department of Social Services in South Carolina, as her bachelor’s degree is in Spanish. She has also been a Student Support Specialist for Communities In Schools Greenville.
