Construction has begun on the first Tropical Grille restaurant in Spartanburg. Tropical Grille offers a Cuban-inspired cuisine.
A real estate adviser with SVN Blackstream in Greenville, Ford Elliott, said that there are many fans of the restaurant in Greenville, so much so that customers were asking for another such restaurant in Spartanburg.
The new restaurant will be close to 5,000 square feet in size with 128 seats for guests, 61 parking spaces, and a window for drive-thru orders. It sits on a property that is 1.6 acres in size. Tropical Grille is designed to be an affordable, healthy, fast-casual restaurant and will offer a full menu for catering.
The restaurant calls for nine people per shift to be hired, some of whom may need business card printing services to help promote such a restaurant.
Among the menu items to be offered are sandwiches and wraps; roasted pork, chicken, and vegetarian bowls; salads; and sides including yuca fries; yellow, brown, or white rice; black beans; and baked sweet plantains. There is also a range of sauces that will be available for all dishes. A kid’s menu will be offered with items that have lower prices.
The restaurant is expected to open by early next year with another such restaurant planned for Pine Street. There are six locations of Tropical Grille in upstate South Carolina, including Mauldin, downtown Greenville, and Easley.
