New building in Greer to expand real estate trust portfolio

A new warehouse building of 156,000 square feet in size will be built by Liberty Property Trust at Caliber Ridge Industrial Park in Greer, just outside of Spartanburg.

Anticipated to be ready for occupancy in April, the new site is a spec building, but a regional vice president for the company has said there have been many active prospects interested in leasing space there.

The contractor for the building is Harper Corp. while the architects and engineers are MCA Architecture and Arbor Engineering.

According to vice president and city manager for the Pennsylvania-based trust, Massie Flippin, the site was chosen for its direct access to Interstate 85, its location between Spartanburg and Greenville, and its close proximity to the South Carolina Inland Port, which extends 212 miles inland from the Port of Charleston to Greer.

Flippin added that there has been a solid demand for tenants and the company is looking forward to accommodating the future growth of its customers, noting that the Trust has been very active recently and its acquisitions and developments have boosted the portfolio of the company to approximately 7.5 million square feet across both Carolinas, with a total of 1.6 million square feet in the Greenville-Spartanburg market alone.

The addition of this new building means more businesses in the area, and potential growth for business card printing companies.
