Distribution operations are in the process of being planned for Spartanburg County by Visual Comfort & Co., a producer of signature ceiling fans, architectural lighting, and designer lighting.
Visual Comfort & Co. partners with some of the biggest names in design, and offers a wide range of lighting designs, striving to strike a balance between value and quality.
The new distribution center for the company will be at Smith Farms Industrial Park in Greer and will create 125 new jobs over the next five years for residents of Spartanburg, Greer, Greenville, and the surrounding communities, no doubt prompting local jobseekers to think about their résumés and Business Cards.
The company plans to invest $62m in this new facility, which will fulfill the growing demand of the company for many years in the future. A grant of $300,000 was given to Spartanburg County by the Coordinating Council for Economic Development to help with the costs for the development.
Gary Hirschel, Chief Operating Officer of Visual Comfort & Co., expressed his excitement about partnering with the state and the county on a new state-of-the-art facility that will enhance the overall experience for their customers. He added that the location in Greer – with its infrastructure, access to ports, and strong labor force – make it an ideal location for this new facility.
