Ritrama, an Italian company that manufactures pressure sensitive adhesive materials, is planning to build a facility at the cost of $85 million in Spartanburg County.
It will become the headquarters for the company in North America and bring 150 jobs to the area, when it is expected to open in the fall of 2017. Most likely a business card printing company in nearby Spartanburg will benefit from the new plant, as the new employees will need Business Cards and the company will require other related materials.
The plant will be 350,000 square feet in size and will have advanced robotics for internal Packaging and logistics. It will also be used as a retrieval system for the company’s warehousing needs and for automated storage. Providing logistical functions for distribution of its products in both North America and Central America will be another operation that will take place at the plant.
Ricardo Rink, CEO of the Ritrama Group, said that he is looking forward to the future of the company in Spartanburg County. Both the state of South Carolina and Spartanburg County have been very supportive during the process of creating the plant and the company is hopeful about bringing new jobs to the state-of-the-art factory, he added.
The hiring process will begin late this year and carry into 2017. SC Works and ReadySC will be helping with the recruitment process.
