October is to be filled with numerous events and activities in Greer, some of which are bound to tempt those making the short journey from Spartanburg.
Enjoy Dance is holding group ballroom classes starting tonight and running for four weeks each. Beginner rumba and waltz classes will be from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and intermediate foxtrot and swing take center stage from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Music lovers can go to the Stomping Grounds with performances tomorrow, October 2, by Gene Holdway, an acoustic folk musician. Also taking place are ‘Old Time Jam with Bob Buckingham’ on the first and third Tuesday of the month, and those with a guitar, bass, banjo, or fiddle are invited to join in. There is open session of Irish and Scottish music on Wednesday nights too, in which anyone is welcome to participate.
On October 7, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, there will be a fashion show sponsored by the merchants of downtown Greer. It will feature clothing from the stores in the downtown area and will include clothing for women of all sizes and menswear. The event is being held to raise awareness of breast cancer. A fee of $20 is being charged for the event, which will also include light hors d’oeuvres.
Most likely those who are sponsoring these events are turning to a variety of printing services to make those in the community and the area aware of these events and encourage participation.
