Converse College in Spartanburg has announced a new scholarship program for high school seniors in South Carolina who are in the top 10 percent of their class.
To be known as the Converse Program, the scholarship will cover the full tuition at the college for up to eight semesters for eligible students. To qualify for the scholarship, students should be attending a high school in the state, graduate in the top 10 percent of their class, and be eligible to receive a Pell grant, which are grants that are given to low-income undergraduate students. Students also need to complete the application for financial aid and to submit a deposit to the college for enrollment immediately following their graduation from high school.
Print shops are often called upon to create materials with more information about such programs that can be distributed to students.
President of Converse College, Krista L. Newkirk, said that the Converse Promise makes it possible for students in the state who are looking to develop the skills they need for a professional career to receive a private educational experience. Vice President for Enrollment Management at the college, Jamie A. Grant, added that many students want to attend college but may not have the financial means. The Converse Promise makes it possible that these students will be able to receive the support they need to attend college for all four years.
