Bosch finds new home in Spartanburg area

Bosch Security Systems will be relocating its distribution operations for North and South America to a new 150,000-square-foot building in Greer, just outside of Spartanburg.

The company supplies safety, security, and communications products and services, and it plans to open the new center in December.

It is expected that more than 50 jobs will be created as a result of the project by 2019, with hiring for some of these positions to begin in the fall. According to Chandra Lewis, a spokesperson for Robert Bosch LLC in Farmington Hills, Michigan, the company will be hiring people from the local area. Business card printing services will certainly be in demand once the new center is operational.

The regional president for the company, Christopher Gerace, commented that this is the first facility of this kind for the company in the state and Bosch hopes to benefit from its collaborations with locations and transportation access in the state.

The president and CEO of the Ports Authority, Jim Newsome, added that his origination is looking forward to supporting the company at its new distribution center in Spartanburg County.

Bosch Security Systems has its United States division headquarters in Fairport, New York and employs over 12,000 people around the world. It is a subsidiary of the Bosch Group, which is based in Germany.
