The pediatrics unit at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center was the recent recipient of a large painting, donated by BMW Financial Services NA LLC, assisted by the Atlanta-based Foundation for Hospital Art.
BMW Financial Services is involved in many community support projects across the country and is committed to sustainability and giving back to local communities, according to a statement from the company.
Nurse Manager of Pediatrics, Devonne Gerstenacker, said that receiving this art work means a great deal to the hospital as it makes the environment brighter, so patients feel happier which contributes to healing.
CEO of BMW Financial Services, Ed Robinson, said that the company works closely with dealers to identify needs in local communities and join in the company’s efforts. Some of the endeavors in which they have been involved include donating to a number of Seeing Eye dog programs; contributing to a foundation for sea turtle rescue and research in Boca Raton, Florida; and renovating a school in Punta Mita, Mexico.
BMW Financial Services worked with the Foundation for Hospital Art to connect them with the Healing Arts Program of the Spartanburg Regional Foundation. The painting is like a mural, with six panels, all of which were hand-painted.
