What's Happening in Anderson, SC…

Special craft activities offered in Anderson

The Anderson County Library is presenting a number of unique craft events throughout the month of November.

Two events hosted by the Electric City Creative Makerspace will focus on building animals with Lego and creating a paper snowman.

For the paper snowman event, the Electric City Creative Craft Cafe in front of the second-floor Makerspace will be the location. The focus will be on mini paper snowmen, created from kits cut from cardstock to create 3D ornaments.

Another ongoing event by ECC Makerspace in the library focuses on a Lego challenge in which participants are tasked with building an animal in just one hour. Participants aged 12 to 18 can use the Gambrell Teen Room in the library for this event, while adults over 18 are asked to use the ECC Makerspace.

The library will provide the Lego sets and timers. People who complete the challenge in the allotted time will receive a certificate, have their photo taken, and be entered in a raffle for a monthly prize.

Craft events like these may choose to use stationery printers for creating paper craft templates.

The Lego challenge event takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays throughout November in the Anderson County Library. The mini paper snowman craft event is happening at the same library during the same days but is limited to November 1 through 10.
