Anderson’s Carolina Wren Park is hosting a production of Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical this August.
Based on the Academy Award-winning 2013 animated film of the same name, the live musical features all of the songs that made the film a worldwide smash hit.
The Disney film, which won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Let It Go,” is loosely based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale The Snow Queen.
The story follows Anna, who has been estranged from her sister, the queen Elsa. When Elsa engulfs her hometown in a perpetual winter from her mysterious powers, Anna must reunite with her to set her relationship straight and bring the town back to normal. Along the way, Anna meets a colorful array of characters, including mountain man Kristoff and the sentient snowman Olaf.
The Broadway production of the Disney film originally hit the St. James Theatre in New York City in 2018. It was nominated for several Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and even featured brand new music not heard in the film.
