Dancing event for charity returns to Anderson

Anderson is once again hosting its Dancing for Our Heroes event at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center this April.

The Rotary Club of Greater Anderson has put on the event for nearly two decades. It aims to use the power of dance to raise money for charity.

For the 2026 iteration of the event, the 14 competing teams will use the theme of the British Invasion, in reference to 1960s-era rock bands that gained popularity in the United States, such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Taking on the format of TV ABC show Dancing with the Stars, the event will feature local couples dancing in a competition to raise money for their Anderson-area nonprofit of choice.

Among the competitors are Anne and Mike Eldridge, representing the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium, who will dance to Rod Stewart’s Love Me or Leave Me. Other competitors include Jimmie and Stephanie Williams, raising money for The LOT Project; and Travis and Shayna Rochester dancing for Hope Missions of the Upstate.

Fundraising events like this may choose to use brochure printing to create pamphlets about charities.

The Rotary Club of Greater Anderson’s 19th Annual Dancing for Our Heroes event is happening on Thursday, April 16 at 6:00 pm at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center at 3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Anderson.
