Upcoming festival highlights fiber arts

The 12th annual Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival and the Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival are taking place next month for three days.

The festival is aimed at those who are interested in the fiber arts, including knitting, crochet, sewing, felting, and paper arts. There will be workshops, classes, and make-and-take crafts activities led by Pat Catan.

There are set to be over 110 classes that will be led by teachers like Linda Hall, the Shibaguyz, Steven Berg, and Lisa Calle. Class fees are $10 and up plus the cost of materials.

The Creative Open Studio will be showcasing many of the fiber artists with live demonstrations and finished creations. For fun, there is at PJ party and a magical mystery spin. In addition, a variety of local and national vendors will be selling related items, which will likely include wool, threads, patterns, and instruction Books.

Knitters and other from all over the Pittsburgh are sure to be interested in this festival. To help spread the message in the community, Stationery printers from the area may be asked to provide advertising products such as Flyers.

The event will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from March 4 to 6. Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door, or $25 for a three-day pass. For more information, visit the event website.
