Upcoming events showcase Pittsburgh cuisine

There are two events taking place next month that will help to highlight the variety of food available in the Pittsburgh area, while helping other people.

The first event is Mittens and Mingles, which is presented by UPMC Mercy. It will be held at the Clear Story Studio tomorrow, December 1, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM.

Tickets are $45 each, and proceeds will help the Brashear Association and the South Side Welcome Center. Guests will be treated to signature drinks and appetizer food pairings, as well as a craft beer and wine bar. Guests can also buy a mitten for $5 and hang it on the mitten tree; all proceeds will go to the Brashear Association to buy toys and holiday meals. Sponsorships are available from $200 up to $2,500. Call 412-431-3360 for more information.

On December 13, the Oakland Business Improvement District’s (OBID) annual meeting will be held at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Admission is $25. The theme of the event is ‘O’ Say can we Eat’. Those in attendance will be served food from those who participate in the Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant Program. The meeting is also a celebration of the achievements of the OBID. A portion of proceeds will go to the Oakland Food Pantry. To learn more, call 412-683-6243.

Sponsorships are available for both events. They will be recognized at the events on signage provided by Pittsburgh printing companies.
