An event that encourages kids to develop a lifelong love of reading is being offered by Humane Animal Rescue’s North Side Shelter, and it can benefit both the guests and their furry friends alike.
The Pittsburgh shelter is offering its “Deck the Howls” activity as part of its wider Animal Tales Reading Program, and it will include some extra touches. It will be a time for the children to strengthen their literary skills, and those from ages 3 to 16 are welcome.
Each boy or girl who takes part will be encouraged to wear a pair of cozy PJs, and they will read a holiday-themed story to a new fuzzy friend. The planners explained it will help the animals to become more social, which often leads to them finding a forever home a lot faster. The kids will also make decorations, decorate dog treats and have lots of other fun as well, and tickets are $2 each.
One of the activities guests will undertake will be to design Posters to help spread the word about the benefits of adopting a pet. A poster printing company can take items like these and transform them into high-quality marketing materials that can then be posted throughout the community.
The Humane Animal Rescue’s North Side Shelter has made arrangements to host this event on December 17. It will begin at 6:00 pm, and the Active Kids website can be consulted for further details.
