Pittsburgh park organizes four-legged festival

A park in Pittsburgh will soon be offering a salute to some of its hardest-working “landscapers”.

Goat Fest PGH will be a celebration of South Side Park and the herd of goats that keep its invasive plants under control. The whole family is invited to be part of the fun, and while they enjoy the festivities, they will be learning about environmental stewardship in the local area.

The main portion of the activity will take place at 2000 Julia Street, and admission will be free. Live music supplied by local entertainers, as well as a petting zoo and a chance to get to know some of Allegheny GoatScape’s working goats, has also been scheduled. Food trucks will be rolling in, and a pop-up artisan market will also be on site. The kids can enjoy the activities planned for them, and an optional goat yoga add-on will be available.

While the function is being offered free of charge, donations will be appreciated, and a suggested amount of $25 per family has been set. A poster printing company can prepare a variety of materials that help build public anticipation for an activity.

This nod of appreciation to the goats and the park they help to keep invasive plant free is scheduled for Saturday, July 26. Further details can be found by visiting its website.
