Pittsburgh fundraiser to help keep food bank shelves full

Empty Bowls is an initiative that works to tackle hunger in the community, and Pittsburgh will soon be welcoming one of these events.

The Empty Bowl 2024 fundraiser will seek to raise both funding and awareness for local food pantries and other programs, and local artisans and chefs will be lending their talents to the occasion.

Those who choose to support the activity will be served soup, stew or another hot meal in a handcrafted bowl made by local artists. Freshly baked bread will be included, and the bowls will be replenished as the event goes on. There will be three seating times for those who would like to “dine in”, and a takeout option will be on offer as well.

As organizers will want to raise as much as they can for a cause, not-for-profits can often turn to Print shops to help them create promotional materials, such as poster printing, to help spread the word.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for $25, or $30 at the door. Children aged three and under can enter for free.

Empty Bowls 2024 will be serving up hot meals while helping to raise funds for those less fortunate in the community. The event will take place on Sunday, April 7, and the venue is 4905 Fifth Avenue.
