Pittsburgh folk to benefit from cheaper gas

Some recent news about fuel prices will likely be welcomed by Pittsburgh area drivers who are looking to save a little money.

According to GasBuddy, which performed a survey of more than 700 local stations, gas prices in the city have dropped by 4.4¢ a gallon, which puts the average cost at $2.87 for one gallon. This is slightly higher than the national average of $2.73.

GasBuddy’s senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan further remarked that almost every state in the country, with the exception of seven, saw prices for gasoline fall over the past week, some by as much as double-digit percantages.

The cost for fuel for people in Pittsburgh is 87.8¢ per gallon lower than it was a year ago, and it is 10.8¢ cheaper than it was a month ago. A printing company can create advertising items like Flyers and decorations for gas stations that can be used to let the public know about this reduction in the cost for gas, and encourage them to fill up their vehicles.

DeHaan pointed out that crude oil prices have dropped by $10 a barrel over the month of July, and if things continue on as forecast, this trend will continue throughout the summer. Though it cannot be confirmed yet, it is expected that this will continue to remain the case through the fall and the coming winter as well.
