The Europe Day Festival is taking place next month in Pittsburgh, presented by the Pitt University for International Studies, European Studies Center.
The event will celebrate all aspects of European culture. There will be performances from groups such as the Pittsburgh Ceili Club, the French Dancing Group of Pittsburgh, and PICT Classic Theatre. Children's activities will be presented by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and will include creating a light-catcher and button making.
Lots of special guests will be dropping, by including the Ice Queen, Cinderella, and Alice. There will be a medieval fencing demonstration from the Society for Creative Anachronism, language lessons, story time, and a curling demo.
A marketplace is set to feature many local artisans who will be selling handmade items, such as jewelry and providing art demonstrations. There will also likely be representatives from community organizations. Food will also be available for purchase throughout the day.
This event is a good opportunity for local artists to showcase their skills and many of them may have contacted their favorite Pittsburgh banner printing company to purchase a product that will bring more attention to their booths.
The Europe Day Festival will be held at Posvar Hall on May 7 from 12:00 - 7:30 pm. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about all of the day's events, call 412-648-7405.
