Pittsburgh aviary offers introduction to birds

Pittsburgh's National Aviary works to develop an appreciation in the public for bids, and it has planned an activity that will offer gentle introduction to their feathered friends.

The aviary provides a sanctuary to birds, and also hosts an assortment of educational workshops and other activities. One of these has been created especially for those who are nervous around them, and it will be led by an avian expert. Both members and non-members like can register.

The facilitator will walk the participants through a session that will introduce them to birds and the role they play in the ecosystem. They will learn about their habits, songs, and why they are important. Everyone can ask questions and meet a small bird up close in an environment that is comfortable for both. After this portion of the session, the attendees will be able to spend the day at the aviary, learning more about its residents.
