Pittsburgh area boasts native plant sale

Using native plants can be an easy way to lend a hand when it comes to environmental sustainability, and a Pittsburgh activity will connect experienced and newbie green thumbs with a variety of these species.

The annual Wild Ones Native Plant Sale will be offering an assortment of species that are endemic to the Butler area. At least 45 species will be on offer, with a full list to be released closer to its scheduled date. Shoppers with an active membership in the group will receive a discount.

Attendees can make their selections from the over 2,000 individual plants for as long as supplies last, and options for sun, part sun, and shade will be available. A food truck will be on hand so everyone can relax and chat over a bite to eat. Sweet-tooths can spend some time at the bake sale, and a basket raffle will round out the festivities.

Area small businesses are encouraged to submit a vendor application. Booth decor prepared by a printing services company may help a company to stand apart for the crowd in a pop-up market, expo, or other event.

The 2025 Wild Ones Native Plant Sale will kick off at 10:00 am on Sunday, June 22 at the Allegheny RiverTrail Park Aspinwall. A link for businesses to submit a vendor application is included on its web listing.
